At 7 months...
You started army crawling. As soon as you started, you could just get around everywhere... and fast! We can't believe you are already on the move!
You became a solid independent sitter.
You finally started warming up to food. We could finally get a jar of baby food down you from time to time!
Still won't take a bottle.
We gave you a sippy cup, but you just chew on it.
You like puffs and mum mums.
You like any kind of chewy/teething type toy.
You will crawl around after a ball - really cute!
You wear clothing anywhere in the 6-12 month range. 9 month probably fits you best.
Sleeping is about the same as last month- not the best. You always sleep on your belly, not sure if I've mentioned that before. When we put you down on your back, you immediately roll to belly.
You usually take 2 naps during the day.
We have been back and forth with size 3 and size 4 diapers. You poop like a newborn and have lots of "poosplosions" so we've experimented with the different sizes, but neither seems to solve the problem. I think 3's actually fit you best... but the 4's going up higher in back is sometimes beneficial.
Your mom let 7 months pass by without taking your monthly picture. :( So this picture is actually from your 6 month "session." I'm super saddened by this. Second child problems. Sorry, baby-doodle. I promise I love you just as much as I love your brother. You are the sweetest, happiest baby in the world! You win us over big time with your sweet grins and cuteness. There's no way to express how much we love you!
At 8 months, you are becoming a wild man!
Now you not only crawl, but are starting to pull up on furniture and sometimes you just stand your legs up with your hands on the floor! Of course you have no balance or ability to catch yourself, so you really can't handle being upright and it results in some pretty ugly wipe-outs. This is new territory for us because your brother didn't do this stuff this early! He also didn't walk until he was around 14 months old... and because of that, he never had many falls/bumps/bruises. I can't imagine that you will be waiting that long at the rate you're going! I see many bruises and bumps in your near future! ;(
You also started sitting yourself up while crawling - you probably started doing this right before or right at 8 months. You've really just started doing everything at once it seems!
You make the "mamama" and "dadada" sounds but you are a relatively quiet baby other than that and giggling. I think your big brother is loud enough for the both of you so you don't get a chance to be very vocal. ;)
Sleeping at night has gotten some better. You have slept through the night on a few occasions. For the most part, you are starting to sleep about 6-8 hours. Sometimes that includes a time or two of waking up and briefly crying it out. After 6-8 hours though, you wake up and are relentless. It seems like you usually wake up around 4-5 AM... and I just know that for that wake-up time... you are not going to give it up. So, I go get you, bring you to our bed, and feed you. I really don't mind it. You go back to sleep and so do I. You usually wake up for good around 8-8:30 AM...which is about the same time your brother wakes up as well.
You've gotten much better at eating baby food. We usually feed you a Stage 2 jar in the evening. We could probably start working on increasing the amount of "solid food" you eat. I think your brother was eating quite a bit more than this at your age. But you still nurse often and are just a different baby! Also noteworthy, you really hate the vegetables. You love sweet potatoes but hate all the green veggies and aren't even big on squash. Bananas and sweet potatoes are probably your favorites.
You love to play with your brother's big boy toys and usually have something you probably shouldn't. Haha. You can often be found crawling around with a fairly small little toy in your hand - not small enough to choke on but just something little and random - like a paci (which you don't actually take), a toy car, a "little people" figure, etc. It's just kind of funny to me.
You weigh right at 20 lbs. You still wear clothing in the 6-12 month range. I think 9-12 month fits you best right now but if I were to buy anything new for you at this point, it would be 12 month. How is that possible?! You also have pretty big feet, or at least it seems that way. I think you are in a 4! You don't really have any shoes that are a specific size like that...but you have a pair that were a 3 that are too small.
You have started getting (more) hair. You actually have a pretty good little amount right now! It's pretty light... I'd say mostly blonde...there might be a reddish tint but it's hard to say.
You love Dada and Holden a lot...but you definitely love your Mama. You are in a stage right now where if you see me and Dada is holding you, you want me. You don't usually fuss, but if I get near you you try to make your way to me. It makes me feel a little bad for Dada, but I know one day you will think he is the coolest thing EVER so I'm soaking up the Mama love right now. ;)
You are so active, so happy, so giggly. You have the cutest little "horizontal line grin" that just kills me. That paired with your chubby cheeks is just the sweetest thing. You're just so lovable and squeezable. I could kiss your cheeks all day long. You're irresistible! That is the perfect description for you.
Can't believe you're already eight months old, Brooksy Boy.
